LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas football welcomed more than 20 NFL scouts to campus Friday morning as it held its annual Pro Day at the Anderson Family Football Complex. A total of 16 former Jayhawks participated in the event, along with one player each from Ottawa University and Washburn University.

The players were first weighed and measured and then took part in various testing including vertical leap, broad jump, 225-pound bench press, 40-yard dash, three-cone drill, 20-yard shuttle and 60-yard shuttle. Additionally, the players ran through some drills that corresponded to the positions they play.

Quotes from Kansas Football 2013 Pro Day:

DE/LB/FB Toben Opurum:
“I feel good about today. I would've liked to do some pass rushing stuff, but my film will show that. I was able to do some things in some situations I haven't been in, dropping back, catching balls. I haven't done that since 2009, but I was just trying to make sure it looked natural.”

QB Dayne Crist:
“I just wanted to show improvement in my footwork and my accuracy and show that I took this time seriously and that I can make all the throws necessary to compete at a high level in the NFL.”

“I think all the guys competed really well and it was a good culmination of this whole draft process. The next part is kind of out of your control and now you just have to stay patient and stay ready.”

S Bradley McDougald:
On his running a faster 40-yard dash (compared to the NFL combine):
“That just kind of set the tone for the rest of the day. It got that monkey off my back, let me take a deep breath and just go play football.”
