Kansas City, Mo. -- Emporia State's Kaleb Wright has been named the MIAA Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week for week six.

Wright tied a career high with 25 points in the Hornets 110-69 victory over Southwestern, as Emporia State cracked the century mark for the first time since a 100-83 win over SBU on Feb. 10, 2010. He tied a career high with four made three-pointers for the second straight game and had eight points on a pair of three's and a break away dunk during a 14-0 Hornet run in the second half giving ESU the 72-36 edge. He has now led the Hornets in scoring in seven of the nine games they have played. The 6-4 junior guard is a native of Chicago, Ill. where he attended Eisenhower High School before competing at Mineral Area Community College.
