Kansas sophomore men's golfer Jackson Foth led the Jayhawks with an even par 72 in the second round of the Badger Invitational Monday.

As a team, Kansas climbed three spots from Sunday's first round and sit in a tie for third place after posting a day two score of 294 (+6) bring its total to 584 (+8).

Foth's 72 brings his two day total to 145 (+1), which places him in a tie for 11th in the individual leader's board.

"Jackson's playing pretty solid," Kansas head coach Jamie Bermel said. "It's nice to see him making a lot of progress from last year. He continues to improve each week."

KU freshman Chase Hanna recorded a 73 (+1) Monday which gives him a two day total of 144 (E) putting him in a tie for eighth. Sophomore transfer Ben Welle continued to carry his momentum as he carded a 74 (+2) placing him in a tie for 20th with a two day total of 147 (+3). Junior Stan Gautier shot a 75 (+3) bringing his total to 148 (+4) where he sits in a tie for 25th. Junior transfer Logan Philley improved from day one as he scored a 76 (+4) putting him in a tie for 57th with a 154 (+10).

"We played solid today from top to bottom," Bermel said. "We gave away a few shots coming in, but overall a solid day of golf. It was a tough day of golf with the wind blowing 15-20 miles per hour all day. South Carolina has distanced themselves from the field. But it is fairly close with the next five to six teams. We need all five guys playing well on Tuesday."

South Carolina extended its lead with a day two team score of 283 (-5) bringing its two-day total to 565 (-11), 18 strokes ahead of Austin Peay State's two day total of 583 (+7). Kansas is in a tie for third at 584 (+8) after its day two 294 (+6) in the 14-team field. The Jayhawks are tied with Missouri-Kansas City.

The Badger Invitational concludes Tuesday with 18 holes.
