The Ichabods moved up in the poll for the second straight week, this time climbing one spot to 12th in the nation in the AVCA ranking released Monday.
Washburn (19-3, 6-0 MIAA) won four times last week to increase its winning streak to 12 straight matches. This is Washburn's 128th straight AVCA ranking, a streak that dates back to the start of the 2004 season.
The ranking sets up a key match this weekend as Washburn and fourth-ranked Central Missouri (20-0, 6-0 MIAA) will play at 3 p.m. Saturday at Schendel Court at Lee Arena. The two are the only remaining undefeated teams in the MIAA and this will be the only time they meet in the regular season. Both teams have matches earlier in the week with UCM playing Tuesday at Northwest Missouri and Washburn hosting Southwest Baptist Friday at 7 p.m.
The Jennies are the only remaining undefeated team in the top 20. They got two of the 48 first place votes while Concordia-St. Paul (17-1) got the other 46 top votes and is No. 1 in the poll. The Central Region makes up seven of the top 15 teams in the country.
