Ichabod Will McNeill Named To All American Team

EDINBORO, Pa. -- Washburn senior guard Will McNeill has been named a Daktronics honorable mention All-American in a vote of the nation's sports information directors. McNeill was the only MIAA player represented on any of the All-American teams.

McNeill, was a first team NABC All-American as a junior as well as a third team All-American pick by Daktronics as a junior. McNeill is the 22nd different Ichabod to receive All-American honors it is the 31st All-American award for the Washburn program.

McNeill, was the MIAA's Most Valuable Player and was selected as a first team unanimous all-MIAA selection after finishing second in the MIAA in scoring at 19.5 ppg. He also added a school single-season record 80 steals along with 6.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. His 3.0 steals per game ranks sixth in the NCAA.

He became the first Ichabod to record at least 1,500 points, 500 rebounds, 200 steals and 200 assists in a career.

The Central Region is comprised of three conferences: Great American Conference (GAC), Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).

Eleven student-athletes were honored on the two all-region teams. The top five vote getters were named first team and now advance to the national ballot for Daktronics All-American. Five members of the team represent the MIAA, while four came from the NSIC and two came from the GAC.
