TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- We now know who will take over for Ken Darting at Highland Park High School next year. USD 501 officials signed off on the hiring of Jason Jones as the school's next boy's basketball coach, a district spokeserson said Thursday night.

Jones will also teach P.E. at the school. He is set to start on July 31st.

Jones graduated from Sterling College before going on to earn his Master's at Ball State University. He has experience in Georgia, Florida, as well as several locations in Kansas, according to the district.

Darting had held the position for the Scots since 2002, winning four state titles with them along with one more at Silver lake.
