(WIBW) - Former Kansas State University quarterback Daniel Sams is headed to McNeese State.
Sams confirmed the choice Wednesday to several outlets, including GoPowercat.com and ESPN.com, and acknowledged comments on Twitter regarding the decision.
Sams played in all 13 games for the Wildcats as a junior, splitting time under center with Jake Waters, although Sams' snaps diminished late in the season. Still, he finished second on the team with 807 yards rusning and a team-high 11 touchdowns.
Sams is from Louisiana and said he requested the transfer, in part, to be closer to family. McNeese state is in Lake Charles.
