Emporia State Selection Show Watch Party

November 16, 2013 - With a 34-23 win over #23 Washburn today and a loss by Pittsburg State, the #16 Emporia State football team virtually locked up a spot in the NCAA Division II Playoffs. The Hornets will find out for sure on Sunday, November 17 at 4 p.m.

Emporia State will be hosting a watch party beginning at 3:45 p.m. in Webb Hall of the Memorial Union to watch the NCAA Selection Show and the public is invited to attend.

The show will be webcast beginning at 4:00 p.m. on ncaa.com and will be shown on video screens in Webb Hall.

The first round of the NCAA Playoffs are scheduled for Saturday, November 23 at the site of the #3 and #4 seeds in the region. Emporia State was #6 in the latest rankings, while #5 Pittsburg State lost to Missouri Southern on Saturday. The regional #3 seed Henderson State won 60-52 in three overtimes over Ouachita Baptist while #4 seed Minnesota-Duluth won 39-7 over Northern State. The top two seeds both won, #1 Northwest Missouri 51-21 over Missouri Western and #2 Minnesota State 73-7 over Upper Iowa, and should be assured of first round byes.
