Kansas City, Mo. -- Emporia State's Rachel Hanf has been named the MIAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for week 12.

Hanf averaged a double-double for the week with 22.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game as the Lady Hornets stretched their winning streak to five games. She had a career high 25 points and 12 rebounds as Emporia State defeated Nebraska-Kearney 88-53 in the first game of the week. She went eight of 11 from the field including a five of six performance from behind the three-point line. It was the second double-double of her career. She came back with 20 points and nine rebounds in a 72-58 win at Northwest Missouri. She has now made 20 straight from the free-throw line over her last eight games. She is shooting .590 from the field and .565 from the three-point line over the last three games. She became the first Lady Hornet to scored 20 points in three straight games since Allie Volkens did it Jan. 1-8, 2011. She has moved to 23rd on the ESU career scoring list with 1,053 points and is fourth in three-pointers made made with 171 in her four seasons. The 5-9 senior guard is a native of Paola, Kan. where she competed at Paola High School.
