ESU Women's Comeback Bid Falls Short In Regional Championship

Kansas City, Mo. – Emporia State erased most of an 18 point second half deficit, but could not complete the comeback in a 70-67 loss to Concordia-St. Paul in the NCAA Division II Central Regional Championship. ESU shot .467 in the second half and connected on 10 of 11 free throws, but missed on a last second three-point attempt.

For the Lady Hornets Merissa Quick led the way scoring 21 points going seven of eight from the free throw line. Kionna Kellog came just shy of a double-double scoring 11 points and adding nine rebounds. Rheanna Egli finished with 10 points and a team best three assists.

ESU finishes the regular season with a 30-4 record and won five of their last six games.
