ESU Women's Tennis Heads To NCAA Regional

Kansas City, Mo. (MIAA) - The following news release is from the MIAA:

The Southwest Baptist women and the Northwest Missouri men each earned the top seed in the NCAA Division II Central Regional released Tuesday.

Southwest Baptist earns a bye into the second round where they will face the winner of fourth seeded Harding and fifth seed Arkansas Tech in Bolivar, Mo. on May 6 (time TBD). Augustana will host the Central Regional's second bracket which includes Emporia State, Nebraska-Kearney and Northeastern State.

Second seeded Augustana will open the tournament against seventh seeded Emporia State at 9 a.m. on May 3. Nebraska-Kearney earns the sixth seed and will face third seeded Northeastern State at 1 p.m. on May 3 from Sioux Falls, S.D. The winners will advance to play at 9 a.m. on May 4 for a spot in the sweet 16.

In the men's bracket Northwest Missouri State earns a spot in the sweet 16 and will await the winner of the South region 1 at 1:30 p.m. on May 14. Second seed Southwest Baptist will host Nebraska-Kearney on May 5 as the winner earns a spot in the sweet 16.
