KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ The Kansas City Royals activated outfielder Jarrod Dyson from the disabled list and optioned second baseman Chris Getz to Triple-A Omaha before Saturday's game against the Chicago White Sox.
Dyson had been on the DL since sustaining a high right ankle sprain May 15, when he attempted to climb the outfield wall in Los Angeles and steal a homer from the Angels' Mike Trout.
The speedy outfielder was hitting .137 during a rehab stint at Omaha.
Getz was hitting a career-low .214 with one homer and 12 RBIs, and failed to get down a bunt in a 4-3 loss to the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday.
The move leaves the Royals with five outfielders but a lack of infield depth. Elliot Johnson and Miguel Tejada will share duties at second base.
