Rossville, Kan. (WIBW)-- The Rossville Bulldogs are coming off an undefeated regular season and were the only team to beat 3A state champ Silver Lake, but a post season loss to the Eagles has left coach Derick Hammes and the Bulldogs with more determination.

The Bulldogs are not short on talent as they return 9 offensive and 7 defensive starters.

Junior Quarterback Tucker Horack is back after setting a school record with 1,807 rushing yards and over 1,700 passing yards.

Defensive leader Nick Reesor also returns after tallying 91 tackles and three sacks.

Despite looking good on paper, the Bulldogs are ready to prove it on the field.

Senior Receiver and Defensive Back Thatcher Horak said, "We've been waiting for this since the last snap of last season. Guys have been working hard all summer and just waiting for this day."

Fellow Senior Corbin Horak, said, "Our motto is we are one. We want to be one unit as a team so we can go all the way this year."

Coach Hammes said his team will be ready to leave it all on the field, "When people come out Friday nights, they can expect our kids to play hard and they understand the tradition here and on Fridays you will see a great effort each time they take the field."

Rossville opens the season at home against Clay Center Friday, September 5th.
