Broncos Owner Gives Up Team Because Of His Alzheimer's

DENVER, Colo (KAKE) The owner of pro football's Denver Broncos is giving up control of the team.

Pat Bowlen reveals in Wednesday's Denver Post he has Alzheimer's Disease. He reportedly showed symptoms of it five years ago.

Bowlen's ownership of the Broncos now is in a trust, controlled by people outside his family. Bowlen says he will not put the team up for sale.

Bowlen is 70, and purchased the Broncos in 1984. Wikipedia indicates he also owns the Denver Outlaws of Major League Lacrosse.
