Bods, Blues Sweep Kearney

Kansas City, Mo. – Despite all the snow in the area two sets of teams warmed up the floor as mid-week 15 came to an end for MIAA basketball.

Nebraska-Kearney at Washburn
WBB - #5 WU 69, UNK 51
Washburn held Nebraska-Kearney to just 17 points in the first half as they picked up a victory at home. The Lady Blues held UNK to just .270 shooting as they picked up 41 rebounds to move to 14-1 in the league this season.

For the Lady Blues Stormye Everett led the team with 18 points while Sierra Moeller pulled down a team best nine rebounds. LaVonda McCall had 10 points and Laura Kinderknecht dished seven assists. For the Lopers Sarah Hix had 19 points to lead her team. Ohamara Queen added nine points and Danielle Kersten scored eight on the night.

MBB – WU 71, UNK 52
Washburn outrebounded Nebraska-Kearney 45-29 as they picked up a victory on their home floor. The Ichabods held UNK to just .380 shooting as they moved to 10-5 in the league this season.

For the Ichabods Bobby Chipman had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Will McNeill also had a double-double with 12 points and dished out 10 assists. For the Lopers Jon Henderson and Pierre Netwon each scored 14 points on the evening. Tyler Shields led the team on the glass pulling down seven rebounds.

Lindenwood at Truman
WBB – TSU 74, LWU 50
Truman shot .519 as they defeated Lindenwood at home on a snowy night. TSU held LWU to just to just 22 points in the first half as they moved to 11-4 in the MIAA this season.

For the Bulldogs Allie Norton scored 15 points while Jennifer Conway scored 10 points. Becka McHenry scored seven points, pulled down seven rebounds and dished out seven assists. For the Lions Julie Hlinak scored 20 points while Sarah Schnieders scored 10 points on the evening.

MBB – LWU 81, TSU 71
Lindenwood shot .530 as they picked up a victory on the road at Truman. The two teams combined for 18 three-pointers as they moved to 10-6 in the MIAA this year.

For the Lions Cody Sorenson scored 19 points and Brett Thompson had a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Richie Thompson added 15 points while Alex Bazzell added 14 points and six assists. For the Bulldogs Mike Carlson had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Seth Jackson had 16 points and Isaac Gardner finished with 12 points.
