(CBS) -- ESPN has had discussions with the Big 12 and Pac-12 about possibly playing a football game in Mexico City.
ESPN president John Skipper mentioned the subject briefly Thursday while speaking at the Football Bowl Association annual meeting.
No dates or teams were mentioned.
"Keep your eye on it," Skipper said.
Texas AD Steve Patterson told the Austin American-Statesman in January he was interested in more neutral-site football venues, specifically Mexico City.
Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott is in the middle of expanding his conference's brand into China. Washington and Texas will play a men's basketball game in China on Nov. 14, 2015.
Commissioners from both leagues did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
