Beckler, Rural Top Field at 6A Golf Regional

DERBY, Kan. (WIBW) - Schools battled it out at the Derby Country Club for the 6A Regional golf title and a spot at state.

Washburn Rural's Andrew Beckler placed first individually, while the Junior Blues took the team title with a 308. Manhattan was second with 330, while Derby shot 333 to take the third team slot at state.

There was a three way play-off for second place. After playoffs, David Woods of Manhattan claimed second place, followed by Quincy Stith of Derby and John Wright of Washburn Rural.

The 6A State Golf Tournament will tee off Tuesday May 27 at Topeka Country Club.
