Hornet Cross Country Still Not in Regional Rankings

HORNET CROSS COUNTRY STILL NOT IN REGIONAL RANKINGS
September 21, 2007--Despite finishing in front of four teams at the
Southern Stampede that are ranked in the South Central Region and the
top ranked team in the South Region, the Emporia State men failed to get
mentioned in this week*s USTFCCCA Regional Rankings.

The Hornets placed 13th in Joplin, Mo., in front of Harding, the #1
ranked team in the South Region; East Central University, the #6 team in
the South Central Region; Tarleton State, the #7 team in the South
Central; Ft. Hays State, the #8 team in the South Central; and Dallas
Baptist, the #10 team in the South Central Region.

The ESU women, who held out top runner Jonel Rossbach in Joplin for
training purposes, placed 26th at the Southern Stampede.

The Hornets will play host to the ESU/Jock*s Nitch Invitational on
Friday, Sept. 28 in Emporia*s Jones Park. The women*s 5K will begin
at 5 p.m. with the men*s 8K to follow at approximately 5:30 p.m.
There is a two mile fun run scheduled for 6:10 p.m. with the award
presentations for the collegiate races to occur at approximately 6:30
p.m.
