Chiefs Go on the "Offensive" in Support of First Downs for Down Syndrome

WHAT: The First Downs for Down Syndrome 12th Annual “Buddy Walk” which features children with Down syndrome being encouraged by Chiefs players in a walk around the Truman Sports Complex.

WHO: Chiefs G Brian Waters and C Casey Wiegmann will serve as the honorary chairmen of the event and will be joined by fellow members of the offensive line along with the squad’s tight ends.

WHEN: The event will take place on Saturday, September 22nd with members of the Chiefs arriving shortly after practice finishes at approximately 12:30 PM.

Event Day Entertainment: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Event Day Registration: 10:00 AM

Walk begins at 12:30 PM

WHERE: The Truman Sports Complex Parking Lot (Lot D).

WHY: First Downs for Down Syndrome raises money for the Down Syndrome Guild of Kansas City and the Down Syndrome Center of Children’s Mercy Hospital. This program is based on the success of the Chiefs offensive linemen to gain first downs. As a result, over $1 million has been raised since 1992 for the program.
