Wildcat Runner Ramos Earns Big 12 Runner of the Week

IRVING, Texas – On Tuesday the Big 12 Conference honored Kansas State
sophomore Beverly Ramos as the Big 12 women’s cross country Runner of
the Week for her first place finish at the Woody Greeno Invitational in
Lincoln, Neb., on Sep. 15. This is Ramos’ first season as a Wildcat
after transferring from the Universidad de Puerto Rico.

She earned the victory in Lincoln by clocking in a 6K time of 21:21.85,
which was good for eighth-best in school history. Her efforts helped
the women’s team finish second place in a field of 24 teams. The Woody
Greeno Invitational was the second meet that Ramos placed first in this
season. Her first victory of the season came at the K-State/KU Dual on
Sep. 7 in Manhattan.

This is the first Big 12 Runner of the Week honor for K-State cross
country since Liliani Mendez was recognized for her efforts on Sep. 27
of last season.

The Wildcats have a week off before traveling to Minneapolis, Minn., for
the Roy Griak Invitational on Sep. 29.
