Washburn Golf Team Takes Lead at Tournament

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. -- The Washburn Ichabod golf team used a 4-under
individual score by Matt Lazzo to take an eight shot lead into the final
round of the Bulldog Invitational in their opening MIAA Tournament of
the season over Drury. The closest MIAA school is Central Missouri, who
is 10 shots back.
The Ichabods shot a combined team score of even-par 284 paced by Lazzo's
4-under 67, which leads all competitors.
Matt Ewald is in a tie for four after an even par 71. He his followed by
John Robbins who is in a tie for 13th along with Matt Salome, after each
carded a 2-over 73. Ryan Deutsch is in a tie for 18th after a 3-over 74.
The 16-team even is the first of the MIAA schedule, which results are
compiled for the MIAA standings with only each of the conference
school's first teams score going toward the season-long tally. The
Ichabods are the defending MIAA Champions and have won four of the last
five conference championships.
