Post Game Notes: Kansas City Chiefs at Chicago Bears

Turnover Stats: The Chiefs have registered at least one takeaway in 20+ consecutive games, the longest active streak in the NFL. S Bernard Pollard forced a WR Bernard Berrian fumble that was recovered by DT Alfonso Boone. It was Boone’s first fumble recovery with Kansas City and the third of his career. It was Pollard’s first career forced fumble on defense. LB Napoleon Harris recorded his first INT as a member of the Chiefs and the fourth of his career.

Donnie’s Day: LB Donnie Edwards registered his 28th career INT and his 11th as a member of the Chiefs. Edwards owns more INTs than any active LB and more takeaways (39) than any other LB in the NFL since 1996.

Derrick Johnson’s Day: LB Derrick Johnson tied a career high by registering the second 2.0-sack game of his career. He previously did it vs. Seattle (10/29/06). He now has 8.5 career sacks.

More Sack Stats: LB Napoleon Harris registered his first sack as a member of the Chiefs. He now has 7.0 career sacks.

Gonzalez’s Receiving Streak: TE Tony Gonzalez extended his franchise-record streak of consecutive games with a reception to 101 contests, the second-longest compiled by a TE in NFL history.

Bowe TD: WR Dwayne Bowe scored his first NFL TD on a 16-yard pass from QB Damon Huard.

Another First-Quarter Shutout: KC’s defense did not permit any offensive points in the first quarter, marking the ninth time in 18 regular season games under Herm Edwards the club has accomplished that feat.

Starting Notes: LB Donnie Edwards started his 139th consecutive contest, the fifth-longest active streak in the NFL. WR Dwayne Bowe and CB Tyron Brackenridge both made their first career starts.
