MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) _ Kansas State coach Ron Prince isn't
satisfied after leading the Wildcats to a 7-and-6 record in his
first season in charge.
Prince opens his second season on Saturday at number 18 Auburn.
He isn't worried about putting Kansas State's 17-game winning
streak in season openers in serious jeopardy by scheduling the
Tigers. He has bigger goals.
Prince wants to win big games at the end of the season -- like
the Big 12 championship game on December 1st in San Antonio.
The media picked Kansas State to finish third in the Big 12
North, so Prince will need sophomore quarter back Josh Freeman to
make big strides this year.
Freeman was 4-and-4 as a starter last year, but he failed to
throw a touchdown pass in any of the losses.
Auburn returns seven starters from the number seven defense in
the nation a year ago.
