San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, a lineup of former Giants stars and fans were out in force Friday to fete newly crowned homerun king and hometown darling Barry Bonds.
Hall of Famers Willie Mays and Willie McCovey were among those honoring Bonds who broke Hank Aaron's homerun career record August 7th when he hit No. 756 against the Washington Nationals.
A video showing highlights from Bonds' career along with congratulatory videos to Bonds from other athletes including Aaron, Joe Montana and Michael Jordan was also played.
And of course, Bonds got a key to the city whose heart it would appear he has already unlocked.
