Royals Can't Turn Around Against Sox

^
CHICAGO (AP) _ Jim Thome (TOH'-mee) and Javier Vazquez were the
stars as the Chicago White Sox beat Kansas City 5-2.
Thome hit an RBI double and a two-run homer to lead the offense
in the White Sox's second victory in ten games. Thome's
third-inning blast was his 493rd career homer and put the White Sox
ahead 3-0.
Danny Richar and Paul Konerko also homered for the White Sox,
who dropped the Royals back into the AL Central cellar.
Vazquez allowed one earned run and five hits in six-plus innings
to win his third straight decision. Vazquez is 11-and-6.
The White Sox used five other pitchers before Bobby Jenks tossed
the ninth for his 35th save.
Leo Nunez surrendered four runs in as many innings to fall to
2-and-1.
