David Beckham Draws Big Crowd

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) David Beckham had three assists and
drew more than 66-thousand to Giants Stadium but the L.A. Galaxy
lost 5-4 to the New York Red Bulls.

Giants Stadium is nearly empty for most Red Bulls' games as the team averages 11 and a-half thousand in its first 10 home matches. The crowd that came out for Beckham was the largest in franchise
history. It was the largest there for a U.S. league game since the
Cosmos drew a bit more than 70-thousand in 1980.

Beckham said the crowd ``makes you feel honored.''

Beckham played his first full game since joining the Galaxy last month and did it on artificial turf, no less. He was limping at the end due to a lengthy left ankle injury that had caused the 32-year-old midfielder to miss five games and come in as a late sub in two others.
