NEW YORK (AP) _ Former NBA referee Tim Donaghy plans to plead guilty in federal court on Wednesday to charges
alleging he bet on games he officiated.
That's according to a person familiar with the betting probe.
NBA commissioner David Stern has called the alleged betting scandal
the most serious situation he's encountered at the league.
Donaghy is to turn himself at Brooklyn federal court. Donaghy's
attorney, John Lauro, and federal prosecutors declined to comment.
Donaghy worked 13 seasons as an NBA ref. His work included many
playoff games the past two seasons.
