KANSAS CITY, MO (Aug. 13, 2007) – The Kansas City Royals announce today details on the “Family Photo at Home Plate” event scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 8. The event will give Royals fans the opportunity to have their family portrait taken on home plate at Kauffman Stadium before the stadium renovation project begins this off-season. “Family Photo at Home Plate” will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the Royals-New York Yankees 6:10 p.m. game that evening.
The “Family Photo at Home Plate” package includes an 11” x 14” photo matted in a 17” x 22” frame. The photo will be taken at home plate with the Royals Crown Scoreboard, which will feature a personalized name or message, serving as the backdrop. The price of the package is $250 with proceeds benefiting the local chapter of The Dream Factory.
The Dream Factory is an organization that grants dreams for hundreds of area youth diagnosed with critical or chronic illnesses. Throughout the season, the Royals host The Dream Factory children for Wednesday home games to meet Royals players and receive the Kauffman Stadium VIP treatment.
The Royals have a limited number of photo time slots available and reservations are required. Fans can secure a photo time slot by logging onto the Royals website, royals.com. Finished photos will be available within four to six weeks of the event.
