KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Aug. 13, 2007) – Kansas Speedway named Latoria Chinn manager of compliance and communications today. In her role, Chinn will oversee the day-to-day operation of marketing and sales to minority-owned, women-owned and local businesses. She will also develop methods in which to create publicity for Kansas Speedway through community programs. Chinn will continue to oversee guest services including the direct supervision of all volunteer staff.
Chinn has been with Kansas Speedway since 2001, most recently serving as the compliance and guest services manager. She has worked to ensure that each year Kansas Speedway not only meets but exceeds the goal of steering at least 18 percent of its business to minority-owned companies. For those efforts, Chinn was named “Minority Business Advocate of the Year” by the Kansas Department of Commerce’s Office of Minority and Women Business Development last year.
“Torrie has been an asset to Kansas Speedway in our efforts to steer business to minority- and women-owned businesses,” said Kansas Speedway President Jeff Boerger. “In her new role, she will continue to work with these companies and will work to increase Kansas Speedway’s presence in the community.”
