Croyle, Huard in dead heat for starting job

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (AP) _ Kansas City coach Herm Edwards says the
quarterback competition between Brodie Croyle and Damon Huard is a
dead heat so far.
Edwards says both quarterbacks will get a chance to work with
the first team during the preseason.
Croyle will get the start against Cleveland on Saturday, while
Huard will start against Miami next week.
Edwards says he wants to see how well Croyle can run the
offense, which is Huard's strong point.
Croyle was a star at Alabama before the Chiefs took him in the
third round of last year's draft. He saw limited action in two
games as a rookie.
Huard has been in the NFL for eleven seasons.
He threw for eleven touchdowns and just one interception while
filling in when Trent Green was injured last season.
