ESU's Sullivan Named Preseason All-American

EMPORIA, KAN. (August 9, 2007)--Emporia State junior Lucas Sullivan has been named a preseason All-American by the Football Gazette. He is one of 13 MIAA players and one of just six underclassmen from the league selected to the preseason squad.

The Tippecanoe, Ohio native transferred to ESU from Ohio University
following his freshman year. He was third on the Hornets in touchdown
passes with four last year and had 18 total catches.

Overall seniors dominated the 2007 Preseason All-America list, with 86
seniors, 50 juniors and 19 sophomores comprising the elite group. A
total of 155 players representing all four geographic regions of NCAA
Division II were named to the 2007 Football Gazette Preseason
All-America Team.

Six MIAA schools were represented on the Football Gazette Preseason
All-America Team led by Northwest Missouri State with four selections.
Pittsburg State and Missouri Western each had three picks while ESU,
Missouri Southern and Central Missouri all had a single representative.

Emporia State is in the middle of preseason training camp in
preparation for its Sept 1 opener at Western State of Colorado.
