OLATHE, Kan.— The City of Olathe and the Olathe District Schools have been working closely with athletics officials from Kansas State University in preparation for the Wildcats’ football fan appreciation day at the College Boulevard Activity Center. The special event, scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m., August 11, is one of only two open practices K-State will conduct during its preseason training camp. It is free and open to the public and will conclude with an autograph session for fans.
The City, School District and Kansas State expect a significant crowd, and ask those attending to remember the school district facility, including parking areas, is at a drug and alcohol free zone. As such, all alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
Head Coach Ron Prince thanked the City of Olathe and the Olathe School District for hosting the Wildcats. “We are very appreciative for everything the City of Olathe and the Olathe School District have done to make this possible,” Prince said. “This is a special opportunity for us to bring our show before our great fans in the Kansas City area, and we expect everything about this event to be nothing but first-class.”
City of Olathe Police Department, Kansas Highway Patrol and Kansas State Police personnel will be on hand assisting with traffic and parking and patrolling parking areas to ensure the event is a positive experience for fans.
Parking is available on the east and west sides of the CBAC football stadium. Additional parking is available in the north facility lot as well as in the Olathe Northwest High School parking lot.
The CBAC football stadium has a 6,000 seat capacity, but fans are asked not to save seats. Standing room viewing is available along the edge of the facility with the exception of the north end. Concession items will be available at the facility with proceeds benefiting the Olathe School District Athletic Department.
Parking opens at noon, and the stadium will open at 1:00.
CBAC is located immediately adjacent to the new KSU campus site on College Boulevard between K-7 and Woodland Road in Olathe.
