Offensive tackle Will Svitek and second round draft pick Turk McBride got into a light skirmish following a play in an 11-on-11 team drill. Long affter words and pushes were exchanged, a fan from the stands yelled..."Way to go Will!". Chiefs Head Coach Herm Edwards turned to the bleachers and yelled... “No, not ‘way to go.’ We don’t need stuff like that. He just got kicked out of the game.”
Later.. Edwards told the media... “If you’ve got something to say at least think about what you’re saying, IIt’s never smart to say something like that because if you think that’s right you’re watching the wrong sport. When you fight in our league, basketball, baseball and any organized sport; the last time I checked you get kicked out. There’s nothing good about fighting unless you want to see a guy get kicked out. That’s not smart. I was speaking to the football fan. He just happened to say the right thing at the right time, which is great”
