Inspired by their visit to the Shriner's Hospital in St. Louis over the weekend --- preparations for Saturday's game in Hays have included not just one --- but three work-outs --- a day. with JB Bauersfeld in tow, we saw some familiar faces on our visit to East camp in Emporia today.
In fact there are six athletes who played for Topeka High Schools last year --- and a few others within easy driving distance. And the man in charge of directing the East team's fortunes is a Friday Night regular.
Blake Pierce was an assistant last season.
The East team will look very much like Pierce's Seaman Vikings on offense... but adapting to personnel is part of the Shrine Bowl challenge.
