Games Wrap Up With Triumphant Promise for Return

The two weekends of the Sunflower State Games will be known for triumph. We bring the final word as the games wrapped up with much enthusiasm for the future of the Topeka hosted event.

From its opening --- right through to weekend number one of a little of this and that... and then --- more fun from weekend number two.... the Sunflower State Games featured a new twist or two... "The Adventure Race" drew a significant amount of competitors interested in trying something new.

Cross country was also new... race walking was part of that.

The most popular events continued to be basketball, soccer, softball, and track... enrollment in the entire two weeks increased by an estimated two to three hundred people --- up over six thousand ---

The Sunflower State Games remain a sport that you can get involved in... Hoo-ray for Melissa Brunner who took on a rugged cross country course... and to the W-I-B-W TV 13 Survivors... who managed to surprise everyone, including themselves... with Dodge Ball Gold.
