Wildcat Sophomore Falls in Kansas Amateur Semi-Finals

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The lowest seed to advance to the semifinals, Schulte started match-play action on Thursday morning as the 46th seed. After defeating current K-State teammate, Spencer Alefs, in the round of 32 on Friday morning, 3 and 1, he advanced to the quarterfinals with a 1-up win over Patrick
Roth of Prairie Village, Kan.

On Saturday, Schulte began the day with a 2-up victory over Chad Judd of Olathe, Kan., to reach the semifinals. However, he fell to Gary
Woodland of Berryton, Kan., 3 and 2, to conclude the afternoon.

Teammate Kyle Yonke, who advanced to the quarterfinals with a 1-up win
over former Wildcat and 2001 Kansas Amateur champion, Matt Williams,
lost to the tournament's No. 1 seed Wes Stonestreet of Dallas, Texas,
2-up, on Saturday. The 40th seed in the match-play event, Yonke
defeated Dodge Kemmer of Wichita, Kan., in the round of 32 on Friday
morning, 1-up, before defeating Williams.

The finals are slated for a 36-hole match play event on Sunday. For
