TOPEKA, Kan. (July 11, 2007)- Lou Carroso, formerly of Chicago, Illinois was named the new General Manager of Heartland Park Topeka by owner Raymond Irwin.
“After 4 years of growth and renovation, Heartland Park Topeka is now ready to fulfill our original mission: to become known as a world class entertainment destination! Toward that end, we have brought Lou Carroso on board as General Manager,” said Irwin.
Carroso’s experience includes serving 29 years as Director of Service and Parts Operations for large Chicago Automobile Dealerships and former President of “Chicago Auto Dealers Parts and Service Managers Association.” Carroso also served as a consultant with Assent Consulting.
“After many years of involvement in the auto racing industry, I am extremely excited about joining this successful and professional staff,” said Carroso. “It has been a life-long dream to be involved in racing at this level and I am looking forward to bringing HPT to the highest level of auto racing possible.”
A Graduate from General Motors University of Automotive Management, Carroso is a former NHRA Drag Racer, SCCA GT1 Driver and an IMSA Driver.

Under his guidance, our experienced and professional staff will be able to exercise their skills and have the opportunity to reach new levels in sponsorship, event development and operational excellence. Heartland Park Topeka, a multi-purpose racing facility located in Topeka, Kan. annually hosts NHRA POWERade drag racing, the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), and many other pro and amateur drag racing, road racing, and dirt racing events throughout the race season.
