Basketball is typically the most watched event of the Sunflower State Games. Organizers say enrollment in that sport is up considerably over past years.
At the downtown offices ... Executive director Mitch Gross and operations manager Kayla Manzel along with volunteers and capable interns are busy getting everything finalized. There is athlete and volunteer appreciation Festival on Saturday evening. It runs from four to eight o'clock at the Shawnee North Community Park. Athletes and volunteers can come for a free picnic.
