Final Drives on Sports Center Par 3

Golfers took their final swings on the Par 3 Golf Course at Topeka's Sports Center Wednesday.

Sports Center's owners decided to shut down the course due to rising costs of operation and maintenance, including fuel, water and fertilizer. However, the other attractions at Sports Center, including the miniature golf course, driving range, batting cages and go-carts will remain open.

Manager Duane Dale says many golfers came in Wednesday to share their memories, such as teaching children to golf on the shorter course.

Hear Dale explain the decision further in the attached video.
