Kansas Athletics administration and coaches comments on Big 12 Commissioner Kevin Weiberg's resignation

Lew Perkins, Athletics Director - “Kevin has done a terrific job for the Big 12 Conference. I have known Kevin for more than 25 years and have always respected the work he’s done. He led the Big 12 through its formative years, and leaves the conference in great shape, poised well to face the future.”

Don Green, Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) – “From my perspective as a Faculty Athletics Representative, he and his staff have done excellent work coordinating the duties of the different governance groups, the FAR’s, AD’s, SWA’s and the Board. I always felt that he emphasized the issues of student-athlete welfare and sportsmanship. Beyond all that, Kevin is just a very good person. We will miss him.”

Kansas Associate AD/Senior Woman Administrator Kelly Landry-Mehrtens – “We as senior woman administrators appreciated Kevin’s leadership and guidance. His insight and expertise in all areas of college athletics has been invaluable. He will be dearly missed, but at the same time we wish him well. He’s left a legacy of excellence.”

Kansas football coach Mark Mangino – “Commissioner Weiberg displayed strong and steady leadership for the Big 12 Conference for the last nine years. While I am disappointed we are losing such a talented leader, we all wish him great success at the Big Ten Network.”
