GEICO® has signed-on to serve as the title sponsor for a special summer event featuring 16 top PBA bowlers at Six Flags St. Louis, Wednesday, June 13 through Sunday, June 17, the PBA announced today. The GEICO PBA All-Star Shootout Hosted by Six Flags will feature a special outdoor doubles competition as well as numerous promotional appearances by the All-Stars throughout the park.
The tournament marks just the fourth televised PBA event held outdoors and the first since 2001 when Jason Couch won The Villages Sun Bowl in The Villages, Fla. The finals of a PBA Senior Tour event in 2000 were also televised from The Villages. The only other PBA tournament held outdoors was the 1999 Brunswick Long Island Open/New York City Experience – won by Eric Forkel – which was held in Bryant Park in New York City.
The eight teams set to participate in the PBA All-Star Shootout Hosted by Six Flags St. Louis are:

Competition takes place Thursday, June 14 and Friday, June 15, followed by two days of appearances and exhibitions by the 16 bowlers. The event features an alternate shot doubles competition with the field divided into two groups of four teams. Each group will participate in a preliminary qualifying round with the top team in each group moving on to the championship round.
