Hutchinson, Kan. - Cottonwood Hills master planned golf community will open its 18-hole golf course - the first ŒFaldo Championship¹ course in the Midwest - to the public on Saturday, June 23. Designed by six-time Major winner Nick Faldo, principal of the London-based Faldo Design, Cottonwood Hills delivers an exceptional and highly distinctive golf experience.
"When we first set eyes on the Cottonwood Hills property, we immediately realized that it was an extraordinary piece of terrain. It was a site that demanded the creation of a genuinely world class golf course, and we felt compelled to produce a layout that would at once excite, challenge and inspire golfers of all skill levels," said Nick Edmund, Managing Director of Faldo Design. "The splendidly rugged terrain and natural sand dunes are reminiscent of Scotland¹s finest links land - with a splash of the acclaimed Melbourne (Australia) sandbelt thrown in for good measure."
The course is one of 60 golf courses in 15 countries managed by Marriott Golf. Golf memberships purchased at Cottonwood Hills provide members reciprocal benefits at any of the Marriott¹s managed golf courses, including Doral Golf Resort in Miami, and Shadow Ridge Resort in Palm Desert.
"Our partnership with Faldo Design and Marriott Golf have enabled us to build a state-of-the-art contemporary golf course that meets the needs of today¹s golfer, whether an occasional weekend golfer or a talented PGA professional," said Course Owner Lane Neville. "We¹re excited to open our course to the public and give everyone the opportunity to play what we believe will become one of the premier daily fee golf courses in the entire Midwest Region".
The course is currently open for play on nine holes. For tee times, call 620.802.9150, for residential sales call 888.888.2310 or find information online at www.cottonwoodhills.net.
