COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) _ Former Missouri coach Quin Snyder is the
new head coach of the Austin Toros of the N-B-A Developmental
League.
The minor-league team in Texas announced Snyder's hiring today.
Snyder resigned from Missouri last year under pressure.
Snyder replaces Dennis Johnson, the former N-B-A star who
coached the Toros until he died of a heart attack in February after
a team practice.
Snyder started his coaching career as an assistant at Duke, his
alma mater. In 1999 he was named head coach at Missouri, where he
compiled a career record of 127-and-91.
Snyder reached the N-C-double-A tournament in each of his first
four seasons at Missouri, including a trip to the round of eight in
2002.
