^AP-NFL: Dolphins-Chiefs Trade
DAVIE, Fla. (AP) _ Quarterback Trent Green is finally with the
Miami Dolphins in South Florida, where Daunte Culpepper's time is
Green passed his physical with the Dolphins today, completing a
deal in which Miami acquired him from the Kansas City Chiefs for a
middle-round draft pick next year.
Green is expected to be on the Dolphins' practice field Friday
when the team opens a three-day minicamp.
Culpepper wants to be there for minicamp, but he says a few
hours before the Green trade became official, the Dolphins told him
they ``are going in a different direction at the Q-B position.''
Culpepper played in only four games last season due to problems
with his right knee and is still trying to recover from major
surgery on that joint in 2005.
Green missed eight games last year after suffering a concussion
in Kansas City's season opener. He didn't believe he would have a
chance to compete fairly with Brodie Croyle and Damon Huard for the
Chiefs' starting job in 2007 so he requested a trade.
