Topeka is hosting its second Junior Player Development Program at Hummer Park. The two week program is sponsored by the NFL and is intended to help kids build skills both on and off the field.
Organizers say players will learn every position in the game as well as learn life lessons that will help them in school and beyond.
Area middle school coaches, area college players and high school players help run the event. Current and retired professional football players are scheduled to be guest speakers later in the camp.
