Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Friday that the club has agreed to terms of a three-year contract with TE Michael Allan. Allan is the first of Kansas City’s seven 2007 draft picks to reach an agreement with the club. As per Chiefs policy, no other terms of the agreement were made available.

Allan (6-6, 254) joined the Chiefs as the club’s seventh-round pick (231st overall) in the 2007 NFL Draft. He saw action in 36 games (29 starts) at Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington, catching 118 passes for 2,202 yards (18.7 avg.) with 29 TDs. He concluded his collegiate career as Whitworth’s record holder in career touchdown receptions (29), single-season touchdown receptions (15) and career yards per catch (18.7).

Allan started all 12 contests for the Pirates in 2006, registering 53 catches for 1,100 yards (20.8 avg.) and nine TDs. He was only the second player in school history to post a 1,000-yard receiving season and set a single-game school record for receiving yards with 251 yards and two TDs vs. Puget Sound. Allan was the lone NCAA Division III player to compete in the 2007 East-West Shrine Game.

The Bellevue, Washington native prepped at Interlake High School in Bellevue Washington.
