Bishop Miege Takes Kansas 4A Title Over Hayden
Max Shortell threw for 328 yards and four
touchdowns to lead Bishop Miege past defending champion Hayden 28-6
for the Kansas Class 4A title.

SALINA, Kan. (AP) _ Max Shortell threw for 328 yards and four
touchdowns to lead Bishop Miege past defending champion Hayden 28-6
for the Kansas Class 4A title.

Jamie Kostelac caught two passes for touchdowns, and Shortell
connected on a 78-yard scoring toss to Trevor Releford to push
Bishop Miege to its fourth championship and its first since 1977.
Running back John Banister finished the game at quarterback for
Hayden after the team lost its top two quarterbacks to injuries in
the third quarter.
Banister threw a 3-yard scoring pass to Shannon Engroff to put
Hayden on the board.
