Royals Swept By Seattle

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Seattle Mariner Jarrod Washburn hiked
his record at Kauffman Stadium to 5-to-1 today, giving up four hits
and three runs in seven innings.
The left-hander led the Mariners to a 7-to-4 victory over the
Kansas City Royals. And Seattle completed a three-game sweep of
Kansas City.
The Royals have lost four straight.
Jose Vidro (VEE'-droh) and Raul Ibanez (ih-BAHN'-yehz) drove in
two runs apiece for the hot-hitting Mariners.
In the Kansas City sixth, Ryan Shealy singled, went to third on
Tony Pena (PAYN'-yuh) Junior's double and scored on a wild pitch.
Pena scored on David DeJesus' (deh-HAY'-zoos) infield out.
Royals starter Odalis Perez (2-5) gave up nine hits and six runs
five and two-third innings, with three walks and two strikeouts.
The left-hander has three losses and three no-decisions in his
last six starts.
