KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Jason Michaels belted a three-run homer
that capped a five-run first in Cleveland's 10-to-3 romp over
Kansas City.
Ryan Garko had three of the Indians' eleven hits, including a
two-run single in the first inning. Casey Blake added a three-run
triple to help the Indians salvage the finale of the three-game
series.
Jeremy Sowers picked up his first victory since September fifth
while helping Cleveland stay a half-game behind first-place Detroit
in the A-L Central. Sowers allowed a run and six hits in seven
innings to move to 1-and-4.
The loss goes to 4-and-4 Jorge De La Rosa, who was rocked for
nine runs on six hits and seven walks in four and a-third.
The Royals lost for only the third time in eleven games despite
Esteban German's four hits.
