Washburn Soccer Squads Adds 2

Washburn Lady Blues soccer coach Tim Collins has
announced University of Iowa transfer Manon Engelhardt (Derby,
Kan./Derby HS) and high school standout Carrie Pennewell (Overland Park, Kan./St. Thomas Aquinas) have signed to play with the Lady Blues this fall.
“We thrilled to have Manon and Carrie both have decided to play at
Washburn,” Collins said. “In Manon, we have added to an already potent front line and with Carrie, we’ve added a solid player who will be a big part of our program for the next four seasons.”
The 2006 Lady Blues finished the season 15-1-6 winning the MIAA
Championship while reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Manon Engelhardt • Forward/Midfielder • Derby, Kan./University of
Iowa/Derby High School Manon will have two seasons of eligibility for the Lady Blues after playing two seasons for the Hawkeyes.
As a sophomore in 2006: Played in 13 games with one goal against
Northern Colorado on Sept. 16, 2006 scoring two points and three shots overall with one shot on goal. As a freshman in 2005: Named team's Most Improved Player … played in 19
matches with seven starts … netted two goals and tallied three assists …
scored first collegiate goal against Iowa State (Sept. 7) … recorded one
goal at Purdue (Oct. 21) … four shots on goal against Northwestern
(Sept. 25). At Derby High School: A three-time first team all-state selection …four-time all-regional and all-conference selection … all-metro selection as a senior … led team in scoring and voted best offensive player four straight years … second leading scorer in Class 6A as a sophomore … voted team captain, MVP and Gatorade Player of the Year for her high school team as a senior … holds school record for career goals (88) led team to conference titles as a sophomore, junior and senior …played for numerous club teams since age 15.
Personal: Born November 29, 1986 in Lakenheath, England … daughter of Susan Engelhardt and RJ Engelhardt … undecided on major … attended Derby High School and was coached by John Nicholas and Hani Rabi.
